Dr. Eissmann grew up watching his father wax crowns from his lap. At just 10 years old, his father introduced him to building model airplanes to help develop his dexterity and precision—skills that would later define his career in dentistry.
While in dental school at UCSF, Dr. Eissmann worked as a lab technician, waxing crowns for upperclassmen and spending summers refining his technique. He graduated as the top clinician in his class and opened his first dental practice in August of 1984. In February 2020, he moved the practice from the Caughlin Ranch area to its final home on Sierra Rose Drive.
He served as a key faculty member in the Truckee Meadows Community College Dental Hygiene Program for over 13 years, where he was a respected and awarded instructor specializing in oral pathology, dental materials, and clinical instruction.
Dr. Eissmann was a proud member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Northern Nevada Dental Association (NNDA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Pierre Fauchard Academy, and Serve First (Feed the Children). He was also listed in the Who’s Who of Dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, he enjoyed fishing, biking, landscaping, and spending time with his wife, Rita, his three children ,and extended family.
Dr. Eissmann was known for his dedication to education, his care for patients, and his steady presence in the Reno dental community. He is deeply missed by all who had the honor of working with or being cared for by him.
